FrankieFrankie is our 4yr old Pit Bull that came from a NYC shelter where he was to be euthanized. We discovered that Frankie is deaf and his frustration episodes were attributed to his lack of proper socialization and deafness. Frankie had shown a very destructive tendency initially upon staying with us, but has become more and more desensitized to common things. He is feeling more calm and satisfied with the constant play he particpates in and with long walks. Frankie loves the outdoors and is very friendly and happy to meet people. His favorite pastime is chewing on marrow bones and reminding us that he wants to eat! Lots of attention, ball playing and long walks keep Frankie "Safe and Sound." PeppyPeppy is an 8yr old male Chihuahua mix. Peppy is a great lap dog who loves to be in the constant company of people. He tolerates some dogs that are passive, and quiet, as he likes a peaceful and low activity household. However, everyone who knows him is sure to say that Peppy's wish list includes being an "only child" (dog!) At first, he can be unsure of being with someone new, until he gets to know how loveable that person can be, just like he is. Peppy has shown to be a little bossy at home, wanting to make sure he keep track of who comes in and who goes out, just to make sure everything is alright. With an owner who understands his need to keep everyone safe in the house:), everything will work out smoothly! We are all hoping that Peppy can find that perfect home that will allow him to enjoy his senior years with all the love and attention and serenity he deserves. He will return the love a hundred fold!

DaisyDaisy is an 4yr old female Beagle-Chihuahua mix.Daisy is fearful and, at times, may feel the need to protect herself because of lack of confidence, when uncomfortable or uncertain. She trusts a small circle of people and is more comfortable overall with with women. Daisy will require an adopter who would meet and socialize with her over a period of time, before going into their home permanently. Daisy is loving and happy and energetic and will display all of these attributes with her trusted companions. She is a sensitive dog who asks for patience and understanding and will do very well in a home as the only pet and with adults only. Please Contact Sue Email: [email protected]

HopeHope is a 3 year old pitbull mix girl who's not only smart, house broken, and crate trained, she walks well on a leash. Hope went through extensive training with Jeff Kolbjornsen, she knows all basic commands. Hope needs someone who can offer her routine, discipline and exercise. Hope was also evaluated and recommended for search and rescue work. But because of her breed, many organizations turned her away. Hope is an active girl, she thrives on exercise, she loves running, hiking and taking long walks. She is not a couch potato! Hope is also good with other dogs. Shira 3 year old Siberian Husky/Border Collie mixShira is 3 year old Siberian Husky/Border Collie mix who was found abandoned and taken to the NYC Animal Care and Control after her owner died. She is a happy, friendly, energetic, sweet girl who loves belly rubs, attention and talking. Yes, that’s right. She’s very vocal like many Huskies and talks to you with woos. Shira has completed training with Jeff and is currently boarding with him as we no longer have a foster home for Shira. Shira is a dominant girl, as most Huskies are, and needs an experienced home. Shira would do best as an only dog in an active, adult only home. Shira has a very high prey drive and can’t live with cats. Shira needs a lot of exercise and mental stimulation to fulfill the needs of both her breeds and would do well with agility course work.. Shira weighs approximately 40 pounds, is housebroken and crate trained. Shira’s adoption fee is $250 and adopters will receive one training session with Jeff upon finalizing the adoption. Applicants must come to meet Shira in person. Video of Shira can be seen at http://youtu.be/PFCxGm4-mLM If you are interested in adopting Shira, please visit www.treasuredk9s.org and submit and adoption application. Experience with Siberian Huskies, Border Collies, Samoyeds, or other similar northern breeds is preferred.
