There has been a growing concern about problematic dog behavior. More and more owners are desperate for help and are seeking hope for their problematic dogs. Euthanasia is never the answer. What is necessary is to get your dog’s behavior evaluated by a behaviorist who understands the issues that your dog is displaying and who can recommend appropriate steps to address your concerns.
One must get to the root of the problem which sometimes originates from the initial selection of
the dog you now have. One important thing to initially consider is the type of breed you are going to incorporate into your life and household. Many times owners choose a dog that is very different from their lifestyle, and who possesses conflicting energy levels. Often times it creates a situation where some owners no longer want to tolerate the behaviors the dogs display over time. It becomes a battle of the wills, and if the owner is half hearted to begin with, in most circumstances, the “problem” conveniently becomes the “reason” to get rid of that dog.
The American Kennel Club (AKC) breaks down the categories of dog types and their characteristics and have somewhat done some of the research already for you. The AKC is a good reference tool when beginning the search of a well suited household companion. Many breed clubs offer detailed information and assistance with their dogs.
Dealing with a problematic dog can be overwhelming if you do not seek out the necessary and appropriate help. HELP IS HERE. It is your responsibility and obligation to seek it out and help your dog. He/she depends on you. Sometimes their life depends on it. No matter what the situation is, I will always help you to help your dog.
